– Tells Tirupati voters not to elect another YCP dumb MP
– YCP MPs bowed heads before Delhi
– Only TDP can voice AP concerns in Parliament
AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Friday accused Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy of failing to question the Central Government on the issue of fulfillment of promises made to Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Lokesh said that the AP voters had elected 22 YCP MPs in the hope of getting justice but eventually all those MPs just stood silently with their heads bowing before Delhi. There was nothing that the Chief Minister and his party 22 MPs could achieve for the State from the Centre in the past 21 months.
In a statement here, Mr. Lokesh called upon the voters of Tirupati not to elect a dumb YCP MP once again. The evidence so far proved that the YCP MPs served their own selfish interests but never worked for the common good of the AP people. If TDP candidate Panabaka Lakshmi was elected, she would provide a questioning voice on behalf of the AP people. She would raise the State’s pertinent issues in the Parliament.
Earlier, Mr. Lokesh vowed that the TDP leaders and cadres would continue their relentless fight till the undemocratic and faction-driven regime of Jagan Reddy would bite the dust. He condemned the death of TDP activist Garikapati Krishna Rao after he suffered injuries in the hands of the YCP mobs at Lakkarajugarlapadu village in Sattenapalli rural mandal. The TDP activist succumbed to bleeding injuries during treatment in a Hyderabad hospital.
Mr. Lokesh held the faction-ridden rule of Jagan Reddy responsible for the death of Krishna Rao and the YCP Government owed an explanation to the people on this. The TDP would stand by the bereaved family members and it would extend all the necessary support to them. Jagan Reddy has brought faction and blood stained politics into the elections which should have been conducted in a free and fair manner.
Stating that threats and attacks became commonplace, Mr. Nara Lokesh deplored that the YCP goondas have harassed and injured rival candidates just for filing nominations. The volunteers’ system was grossly misused to threaten the voters at an individual level that they would not get the Government benefits if they voted for the Opposition party. If the TDP candidates bravely faced these threats and stood in the elections, they were being terminated by the YCP miscreants.
Mr. Lokesh warned the ruling party leaders of dire consequences and a public revolt if they continued and perpetrated their faction mindset on the people of the State. The Jagan Reddy rule came to power by promising many things to the people but after coming to power, it was putting all sorts of burdens on the citizens. The common man’s life became miserable and they were unable to even voice their basic concerns about livelihoods, rights, safety and security. They were under constant threat from the YCP goondas and mobs.
