“As the name says, this is a hunger eradication project taken up by the youth driven hyderabad based NGO, Rotaract Club of Miyapur, is based on a simple concept of cooking for an extra individual and donating it to the needy. The volunteers collect homemade food and distribute them to the hungry and homeless.
It’s been six months they have started working on this project and are further planning to expand it through connected Rotaract clubs spread all over the country.
This three year old Rotaract family has been actively working for the society since it’s inception, touching upon issues like literacy, animal welfare, blood donation, environmental awareness and professional development. They also visit the under privileged communities, Government Schools in their locality during their holidays to teach the Children on spoken English, grammar apart from giving awareness on health issues. They say with a smile that these service activities gives not only immense pleasure but also a learning curve for them about the society.
The volunteers, referred to as the Rotaractors have stated that this idea was inspired from a young social worker from Chennai, Sneha Mohandoss(Founder-FOOD BANK, India). Wishing her and the team all the best, love from Hyderabad.
