Jaitley undergoes kidney transplant at AIIMS

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley underwent a successful kidney transplant at AIIMS.

“Both Donor and Recipient are stable and recovering well”, the official at AIIMS said.

From the last one month the minister had been suffering from kidney ailment and had been undergoing dialysis treatment.

On April the 6th 2018, Minister Jaitley tweeted about his illness “I am being treated for kidney-related problems & certain infections that I have contracted.”

Mr. Jaitley had mentioned he was currently working from controlled environment at home. The future course of his treatment would be determined by the doctors treating him.

In September 2014, Jaitley underwent a bariatric surgery to treat weight gain because of a long-standing diabetic condition. The surgery was first performed at Max Hospital, but he had to be later shifted to AIIMS because of complications.

Jaitley had a heart surgery several years ago.
